I don't know anyone whose name starts with "J"! Who could it possibly be?! I drove home fast and rushed to my room before anyone could see me. I then sat on my bed and opened the wrapped box and it read "Sugar Daddy's Bakery". My mind was full of thoughts; I was so confused! The box had cupcakes in it with hearts drawn all over them. Curiosity was killing me! What kind of mysterious lover sends a box of cupcakes to the person they love?!?!!!
I then heard someone knocking on the door, so I opened it. It was my brother, Zayed.
Zayed: Mr7baa bl 7beeb, ana jahez yalla goom bn6la3
7amdan (winking): Zayed laish mtksh5 hel kthr? Going on a date?
Zayed (acting innocent): Mashay wallah, sayr ashoof el 7abeeba "JooJoo" laish b3ad! 7amdan: Jwaher ha? Zayed: Yup! By the way she told me she saw ur car when she passed by the park, she was supposed to give me them when she sees me but she changed her mind and decided to leave it on ur car in case she couldn't. 7amdan: Good thing u told me! I was so curious! She signed the card J and there isn't a name to say who its for, and I also couldn't think of a name. Zayed: Hahaay a7san! El mhm yalla nseer, I dun wanna be late.
Zayed and I really look alike to the extent that sometimes people mix up between us. They had to look at the eyes to know who it was. His eyes were dark brown, where as mine were hazel. Anyway, we got in my car and drove off to Dubai Mall. As we got there I parked in the Fashion Avenue parking and we headed towards Fauchon cafè. I called my friend A7mad to join me, since Zayed was going to leave me alone so he could see Jwaher.

15 minutes later .... 8:30 pm

7amdan: 7ayallaah Bu sh'haab! Wainek mn zman A7mad: Mwjood bs t3rf el drasa thab7tneh hel ayam, 5a9tan cz I'm in my last year. 7amdan: Bl twfeej enshallah!

We started talking about college life, work, and a lot of random things. A7mad is my high school friend. We were the most popular guys at school. He almost had the same looks, but there were slight differences. He had chocolate brown hair and dark brown eyes, unlike me.
Moments later, I felt as if I was being watched and looked around.



Back to Reem's Perspective

I was walking around Dubai Mall... Fashion Avenue to be exact, and that's when I spotted a familiar face down in Fauchon cafè. It was 7amdan. I quickly texted him so he could look up but he already did before I could tell him. I still texted him, and typed "Spotted you ;)" 7amdan: Reemooh sho tsween hnee? :p Bs 9dfa 7lwa ;) Reem: Nothing much. Change of scenery and I came to meet up with Maithaneh. 7amdan: Ooow enzain nzlee mree 9obna plz (A) Aba ashoofch ;) Reem: Shftne elyom mashbaa3t :P?! 7amdan: La w mst7eel hel shay! Reem: 5la9 3shan 5a6erk bmr twice, and bseer :P 7amdan: Ok 7ubii, I'm waiting..

I went down the escalator that's in the middle of Armani cafè and Fauchon cafè, and passed next to Fauchon, then went back towards Ralph Lauren so I could see him, and then head to the Ice rink area. He looked so adorable in his Armani Polo shirt and jeans. Although I didn't like seeing guys in polo shirts, 7amdan was different! I could accept everything that I didn't like if it was from him.
I was too busy texting, so I didn't watch out for what was in front of me. Blackberry addiction, I bet you all know how it is!!
Maitha: Reemooh watch out!

Seconds later, I saw myself on the ground I looked up to see what I hit. I was so confused. It looked like 7amdan, but how come? He was just at the cafè and his nickname isn't updated yet! Maitha was laughing at me cz she thought it was him too. She knew how awkward it would be for me, but she still helped me get up.
Reem: Huh? 7amdan?! How did u get here so fast?!
The guy started laughing as if I told him a joke. At this moment, I felt mad! Why was he laughing? There's absolutely nothing funny about it, it happens to a lot of people!
Guy: Hahaha, shaklech 7amdan's girlfriend, Reem. Am I right? Reem: Yah, but what do you mean by "7amdan's girlfriend"? Zayed: I'm not 7amdan. I'm his brother, Zayed. We look alike I know; many of our friends can't tell us apart.
Reem (whispering to Maitha): Awaih! Yal Fshlaa! Ma a9adg eni t7raiteh 7amdan!
Zayed (starting to freak out): Why are you girls staring at me?
Reem: Were trying to spot the differences between you and your brother. Maitha: I found out! It's the eyes! Look clearly. Reem: Haih 9dgech... 7amdan's are hazel. Zayed: Zain yom enkom 3rftow... yalla bseer ana 7amdan ytryane w wray emt7an bachr.. I came here for a short break. Reem: Good luck w salem 3laih.


He walked away as we kept staring unbelievably. It was something weird. It was as if he and 7amdan were twins!
We went to Cafè Nero by the ice rink so we could meet up with Meera. As we were waiting, we noticed M7amad passing by.
Maitha: Uff! What's with this guy! It's as if he's stalking us! Reem: Haih wallah a7s feech. A7s 5laa9 malait mn kthr mashoofeh!

(Meera enters the cafè)

Meera: Hi... How are you guys doing? Reem & Maitha: Great. Meera: Shfeekom mbwzeen chna yahal sa7been 3nhom 7alaawa?! Maitha: Mashay shefna wayh mab'3aineh nshoofeh Meera: Lemme guess... M7amad? Reem: Akeed, mno '3aireh y3nee?

Maitha used to like M7amad when were freshmen, but he didn't know about it because they weren't in the same university. He was the first guy she liked so much, so it was hard for her too see him. He sometimes hangs out with me and Fa6amy at university, and that's how Maitha first saw him.
M7amad wasn't that cute. He was just normal.

She then got over her feelings, since she knew it was impossible for her to talk to a guy. It's just no the way she is. Meera and I were the only ones who knew about it.
Meera: Ma3laich mneh... ignore and life goes on! Be cool ya5ee hahaha Maitha: Yah I know; I do ignore, but you know it bothers me whenever I see him. Reem: Methl magalat Meerooh... 6aaaf w tam'6ee el 7ayaah!

Rashed Al Majed's song "El Mw3d El '9aye3" played as my phone began to ring. I looked at the screen before I answered. A familiar number flashed on the screen. I showed it to Maitha and Meera, and they said it seemed familiar to them too!
I answered to see who it was... It was a familiar voice...

7amdan’s Perspective
I had one chapter left to study for, so I snatched my books off my study desk, put them in my backpack, and drove to the park to study for finals. As I entered the park, I smelt freshly cut green grass, the perfume of roses and lavender, heard the striking chirps of the birds, and little kids too.
I took my book out of my backpack and opened it to the last chapter I had to study. I started to memorize: “Finance is the science of funds management. The general areas of finance are business finance, personal finance, and public finance.” A few minutes later I got to the park’s center and saw her.
She looked so gorgeous in her training suit. I couldn’t believe my eyes! My Reem was right in front of me; we stared at each other for moments and enjoyed every second.
3alya (snapping her fingers): Snap out of it you two! I’m here u know (blinking innocently).
7amdan: 3alya can I borrow my girlfriend for a while? (Puppy eyes)
3alya (whispering to Reem): I’ve seen a lot of guys who have pretended that they loved u, but this one isn’t faking it. Go ahead have fun bas Reemooh gimme ur iPod 3shan mamel.
7amdan: 3alya thank you so much! I really owe u big time!
3alya: No problem dude. It’s nice being cupid for a day.
I put my arms around her waist and pulled her close to me as we walked together. She’s my life! I smiled and felt so happy every time I was around her. I never thought I’d be in love like this, whenever I look at her my heart beats twice its normal beat. She was a bit shy but I found it cute. As much I wanted to kiss her, I forced myself not to. I had the feeling that it was wrong. I just couldn’t! She’s my precious diamond. The only kiss I could give her was on her cheek or her forehead. I started to chat with her.
7amdan: Reem quit being shy I’m ur boyfriend. U shouldn’t be shy from me.
Reem: Enshallah, I’ll try as much as I can. So, what brings you here?
7amdan: Nothing really, I just wanted a change of scenery so I could study. How about you?
Reem: Nothing. I felt bored and saw that the weather is meant for the park.
7amdan: Well, I’m glad to see you gorgeous! Did I ever tell you how much I love you?
Reem: No, how much do you love me? (Trying to play it back)
7amdan: Gad el dnya bkbrha!
I pulled her with me next to some trees where no one could see us and kissed her on her cheek. She hugged me so tight, and I hugged her back as I whispered in her ear.
7amdan (whispering): I love you so much. I always have and always will. No one can ever break us apart.
Reem: I love you too handsome.
I wished I could be next to her for a lifetime. Looking at her made me smile so wide that my cheek bones hurt me. She’s my little princess.
7amdan: You make me go crazy. Being with you is like a dream I never want to wake up from. You’re my princess.
Reem: I hope that you be mine forever. Allah la y7rmne mnk w mn shoftek.
I held her tighter. I just didn’t want to let go of her. Being away from her is hard for me. I even included her in my future!
7amdan: As much as I love being with you I can’t be away from you, but 7abeebty I have to go and study my final exam is tomorrow.
Reem: Aaaw! You’re the most adorable thing ever! Its ok you can go study. Good luck!
She kissed me on my cheek which was a shock! I never knew she could do that. She was always shy around me. But I didn’t care. I always had the curiosity about how her kiss would feel like, but now it faded away. She called 3alya and went to walk with her, and I went to sit on a bench so I could study.
I couldn’t study! My mind was filled with thoughts about her. She was invading it! It didn’t bother me; in fact I didn’t want her to leave my mind. I then snapped out of my daydream since I realized I had a whole chapter to finish memorizing in a day.
Half an hour later
The sound of Rashed Al Majed’s song “’ ‘3argan” was heard as my phone began to ring. I took a look at the screen to see who was calling. It was my brother Zayed.
Zayed is a high school senior. He’s the closest person to me. I tell him about everything. He’s there for me all the time.
Zayed: 7amdan wainek? Ana malaan 6al3ne allah y5leek rasy nga3 mn ktab el math. Aba arta7 shway!
7amdan: Mdal3eenkom ento mal mdrsa e7md rabk b3dk mashft shay! B6al3k bs sa3a w7da mb akthar.
Zayed: ok 3ade elmohm a6la3 bs 5la9 a7s ekt2abt!
He hung up. I grabbed my books and headed towards my car. I noticed there was a box on my car’s bonnet with a card attached to it. It read ….

As we got closer to the car we noticed it was a Mercedes G55. The music coming from it was so deafening! I had this emotion where u could sense as if the music is in ur heart or something. Rashed Al Majed’s song “Bala 7ub” played as the window went down. It was F6amy with Maitha.

Reem: F6amy u scared me! I thought some guys were checking out the place.

Meera: F6amy since when do u drive this car?

F6amy: Hahahaha. Since my brother ruined my BMW.

Meera: Oh okay. How?

F6amy: He drove it before he got his license and crashed it.

Reem: Come join us. 3ade bayeeblch 8mee9 mn kabate and Maithooh adreebch u want mal nady el wa9l.

F6amy: Sure. Maithooh goome nenzel, ma3ndna sh’3l fa’9yaat.

Maitha: Reemooh yalla erb3y bntryaach.

I went upstairs to my room to get Maithoo w F6amy football shirts. I got out a Wa9l team shirt for Maitha and Hamburg for F6amy. I rushed downstairs so I wouldn’t let them wait for a long time, and we went outside to play and dance. Next my mom came home and was surprised that the girls were over.

Mom: Wow when did the girls come over?

Reem: Well, shawa5 planned to surprise me and invited them over.

Mom: Oh how sweet of her.

Shai5a: e7m e7m 7laily 6aybeh.

Hours passed, and the girls left my house. I had a great time with them. I’m glad my sister planned this surprise. It was like a reunion to me. As I went to change and head to bed, my phone rang and it was 7amdan.

7amdan: Halla walla

Reem: Ahlain. Sh7alek?

7amdan: B5air el7emdellah wnty?

Reem: B5air damek b5air. So how was the movie?

7amdan: Awesome! 9dgch wayed 7loo laitnaa bdalhom.

My face turned red as a tomato when he said that, but I replied fast before he could say anything and mock me.

Reem: I want to live in their world it’s so amazing.

7amdan: Yaah same here.

Reem: Enzain sho rayek tgoole a bedtime story?

7amdan: Hmm … Kan ya mkan fy 8deem ezman kan fy bnya 7lwa esmha Reem. Kanat Reem tmshy 3al b7ar w t’3anee b3dain chafha walad 9’3eer esma 7amdan. I hung up and didn’t believe that I wasn’t shy to say that, but was still delighted that I did. I mean c’mon our relationship would suck if it were emotionless.

The next day

I got up early hearing the sounds of the birds chirping at my window. I jumped out of bed and open the curtains to check out how the weather was, and then went to have a shower and wore my Juicy Couture training suit. I called my cousin 3alya and asked her if she wanted to come with me to the neighborhood park, since she lived in the same neighborhood. She agreed.

I left the house 15 minutes later and picked 3alya up on my way, cz she doesn’t drive yet.

We walked around the park and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was windy and there wasn’t any sun hitting us. We were really enjoying it, till we so someone we didn’t expect to see.

It was Rashed, who is a guy Maitha and I used to go to school with. He's the biggest flirt ever, but still handsome. He has light brown hair, brown eyes, slim body, isn’t that tall, and a charming smile which makes the girls fall for him.
Reem: Maithaa omg look its Rashed!
Maitha: yaah awaaih b3adeh 3anafs el 7aleh yla3wz el bnat … When will he ever learn not to mess with the girls?!

Reem & Maitha: Hahahaha srrr

We asked for the bill, payed and left. I called my mom to ask her where she is.
Reem: Slam 3laikm, mama where r u?
Mom: W 3laikm eslam, walking around by the aquarium… where r u guys?
Reem: We just left Chocolate bar and don't have anything to do.
Mom: Ok then since ure done we'll leave. Come meet me by the cinema parking. Bye.
Reem: ok bye
I hung up, walked to the parking, and said goodbye to Maitha as I hugged her again cz I knw it'll be a long time till the next time I see her. As we arrived home, I took my shoes off and threw myself on the bed. God I feel so tired after all that walking!
I called 7amdan to c what he was up to cz I didn’t talk to him all day.
Reem: Halla walla, sh7alek?
7amdan: ahlain, good and u?
Reem: Good el7mdellah. Wainek?
7amdan: Fel bait, but I'm leaving after a while. Baser achoof Avatar, galole wayed 7lo.
Reem: Ya it's good. I watched it with Meerooh my friend last week.
7amdan: Aywaa, enzain 7abeebty I missed u.
Reem: Wana b3aad
7amdan: Enzain 7abeebty wallah lo beedy maba5leech w bbaned 3nch bs I have to go rbee3y ya ymr 3lay 3shan nseer.

I placed my phone in charge and lay down to rest for a couple of hours. My mind was filled with thoughts about how today went, and as I was thinking I fell asleep.
I woke up two hours later and saw my friend Meera in my room. I was so astonished to see her! She told me she was going to Abu Dhabi, but she's right here in front of my eyes.
Reem: Meerooh sho tsween hne? Mb chana glte btseereen AD?!?!
Meera (laughing): ya I did, but it was a lie. I was planning to surprise you l2nch glteely u missed me, so I called Shai5a ur sister and she let me in.
Reem: sbaalaa! Shawaaa5 ed5lee el7jra I can hear u laughing y3nee.
Shai5a (bursting into laughter): wahahaha 6a3 shaklch walla t'6a7keen!
I got up to look at myself in the mirror and realized that I didn’t remove my makeup before sleeping. I had panda eyes 3agolat my mom. My eyes were so black from the eyeliner; it was as if someone had punched me in the face.
Meera: Nshee yallaa badlee and wash the black stuff off ur face.
Reem: Abadel? Why?
Meera: bnel3ab kora haha.
She took her 3abaya off and I noticed that she was wearing Barcelona Football club’s shirt with number 10 which is Messi, her favorite player. Shai5a was wearing a football shirt too. It was number 8 from Italia, Gatusso.
Reem: Enty w hel Messi!
I got out of bed and went to look in my cupboard for a football shirt, and then wore number 22 from AC Milan, which is Kaka.
Meera, Shai5a and I went out to our backyard to play. We invited my cousins over to play too. Although we didn’t know how to play well, we still had fun with each other, especially when my crazy czn 3alaya was jumping crazily trying to cheer. We then got out the iPod speakers and played Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship. All of us started going crazy as if we were at a night club or something. We then noticed that a car pulled over, Meera and I went to check out who it was.

It was M7amad; he saw me too and smiled, so I had to smile back.

M7amad is a guy that goes to university with me. Fa6amy my friend and I always see him at every single mall we go to on every weekend almost. He always smiles the dorkiest smile ever whenever he sees me or any of my friends, but over all he's a really kind guy.

Anyway, back to the story.

I immediately called Fa6amy to tell her… us girls manroom enyawd 7aljnaa lazm we gossip hahaha.

Fa6oom: Halla Reemooh

Reem: Ahlaain sh5barch? Sho mswya? I miss hanging out with u wallah. Magdar atrya till were back to uni.

Fa6oom: Walla I'm good, nothing new. Aaw I miss u too!

Reem: Anyway, I'm at Dubai Mall now and guess who I saw coming out of La Fayette?!

Fa6oom (anxiously): Who?!?

Reem: M7amad from university. I remembered u immediately as soon as I saw him. Wallah 9dgch wain manseer nshooofeh!!

Fa6oom: Reemooh wallah sa3at a7s as if he's stalking us but he's not. Seriously I think I see him more than my guy cousins 7ta!

Reem: Yaa 7ta ana a7s eny ashoofeh akthar 3n mashoof 7amdan.

Fa6oom: Speaking of 7amdan, mabrook ure finally together.

Reem: yaah w a5eeran ed3y enah mantfaraag wallah hes the best thing that has ever happened to me!

Reem: ameen!

Fa6oom: Anyways, Reemooh ana bbaned 3anch now cz I'm at the clinic w it's my appointment time now.

Reem: Ok. See ya! Bye.

I hung up and checked my blackberry messages. 7amdan's name was flashing, so I opened the window and read what he wrote to me.

7amdan: Thank you for not letting me down. Thank you for loving me for who I am. Thank you for being my girlfriend. Thank you for understanding me. Thank you for putting a smile on my face whenever thoughts about u fill my mind. Thank you for being my Reem, I love you!

Aaaaw he's so sweet… ya rabee I'm crazy about this guy! I lay down before I go to sleep and my mind overflows with thoughts about him. Even the thoughts make me smile! He's the reason I wake up early every morning with a smile on my face. Allah la y7rmne meneh!

I was walking with my mom and my sister Shai5a, after hours of shopping, when we passed the ice rink. We went to the level under us and stood by the glass to watch the skaters, while my mom went to look in Debenhams on the first floor. There's this group that’s always there whenever I go to watch the rink. There practically professional ice skaters, who have awesome dance moves! As I was watching I noticed a guy I used to go to school with his name is 3li. I was laughing at the group dancing when he drifted off boasting his dance moves. Shai5a and I burst into laughter; he noticed us and thought we were smiling at him, so he smiled. I called one of my best friends from school, Maitha.

Maitha: Halla Reemooh

Reem: Ahlain, sh7alech Maithooh?

Maitha: B5air w u?

Reem: B5air el7mdellah, agoolech chft 3aloh elrga9 wallah faatch shaklaa yjtel mn e'67k awna che yswee 7rkaat. U knw how he shows off y3nee haha!

Maitha: hahaah e7lfeee!!

Reem: wallah! Omg haha he just fell on his face just now when he wanted to copy the dancers.

Maitha: hahaha aaay wayhaa!

Reem: Maithooh wainech enzain mta bto9leen?

Suddenly she hung up, & I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see who it was.

It was Maitha. I hugged her so hard cz it's been a while since the last time I saw her.

We walked around the mall for a while with my sister Shai5a, and then we headed to Sega Republic to play Spin Gear. Maitha and I sat next to each other and Shai5a sat facing us. We screamed bas che mal 3baa6. Maitha makes me lose control of myself!!

As soon as we got down from the ride we went to the bathroom to fix our makeup. I put on Mac's STYLE FROST powder blush, Christian Dior's Pink Comedy lipstick, Maybelline's XXL mascara, and some eyeliner to top it all. Next, we headed to Chocolate Bar, and ordered molten lava & flavored Italian sodas.

I heard intolerable fake laughter coming from girls and suddenly a familiar guy's voice. We turned to see who it was, and were shocked to see him!

My heart started to beat fast as if I had been running for miles! The words he dedicated to me were so sweet. I put my phone on my bedside table then lay down & waited for him to reply. A few moments later, I heard my phone ringing and 7amdan's name was flashing on the screen, so I answered.

I left him and headed towards my car. God! I felt so shy when he said that, but I'm so happy that now we both don’t have to hide our feelings for each other. I drove home so fast, and then parked and ran inside to my room. I started doing my hair and makeup, since that takes me a long time. As soon as I finished I wore my short turquoise dress, high heels, jewelry, and got out my clutch. I took a look at myself and thought that I looked so pretty!
